Community Supported Garden
The Community Supported Garden at La Vista in Godfrey, Illinois, is a ministry of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Part of the Oblate Ecological Initiative, along with La Vista Ecological Learning Center, the Garden is another response to the Oblates' efforts to enhance the priority of Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation.
Garden shareholders, a small family farmer and the land are brought into a covenant on a parcel of the Oblate grounds. Together, what wonderful nourishment is harvested from this effort toward an ecologically and economically sustainable model of interdependence and inter-communion!
The Community Supported Garden at La Vista, a local and sustainably grown food source, practically links people to Earth and provides a solution to our ever-growing separation from Earth, each other and our food supply.
